| The
concept of ASCENSION is based on the intuitive knowledge that Reality
is a “many-sided thing.” We are often told about NDE's and the journeys
beyond death, people who have been spoken to by angels and beings "from
the other side" abound in the media; there are many groups whose
purpose is to encourage one another to lucid dream, astral travel
and/or contact aliens
and "other beings!"
Despite the influence of hundreds of years of belief in the limitations of 3-D physicality, modern intuitives and many of today's scientists are now joining hands to reaffirm what the ancients long knew from direct encounters within multi-dimensional living – the existence of parallel universes and other realms. How these states of being can be reached and experienced by humans has again become important to more than "occult believers" in secret circles. With this interest there naturally arise questions about the nature of these states of being, whether they can be evil, if there are dangers involved and why we would want to experience them. And for those who have never felt that they have "been there" in any of this, what is the Truth, and, just as relevant, what is the point for them personally? In terms of spirituality and organised religion, the freer and the more gnostic a group of believers is, and the more influenced they are by eastern mystical thought, the more the practices that can lead to ascension-states are encouraged; more "fundamentalist" groups, especially the Bible-is-inerrant-based Christian churches tend towards warning their adherents against "dabbling with evil spirits," though the charismatic laughing churches are known for their trance-states and the tales of visionary experiences that their meetings give rise to. Both St Paul and St John experienced "other realms" (the Book of Revelation is an account of such encounters,) and the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament and the apochryphal Books of Enoch testify to similar experiences. These are more than visions, they are journeys between worlds, into beyond-ordinary-life, much akin to the modern shaman's journeys as recounted in Villoldo's and Castaneda's books. For many of us who are reclaiming ourselves outside any limiting belief system, such journeys are much more than dabbling in the unseen - they are the experiental life-blood of our work as re-empowered daughters and sons of the Divine; their insights help us to see with new eyes what the Creator is intending through us for Creation. For the shaman, they are an integral part of the work; literally living between the worlds is part of one's walk. For the mystical Christian it is the constant breathing-and-walking-with-Christ, for the Sufi, the looking-into-Heaven of all daily experience, for the Bhuddist, the seeing-of-the-Void within everything, and so on. Ascension is the name of the bridge into this multiverse world. One of the most important aspects of Ascension is the choosing of a personal path that suits the individual. Some choose to experience Ascension as stages along a journey to the highest and purest forms of Consciousness, through a pathway of self-denial. Others go the way of the indigenous peoples using ancient Shamanic paths, including hallucigens, or by becoming proficient at Astral Travel or learning Transcendental Meditation, or following an Ascension path like the Ishayas'. There are also forms of Ascension that affirm the Earth - as a Pearl of Great Price to be enJOYed (rather than a place of suffering to be left as soon as possible after difficult life lessons have, hopefully, been learned.) These sensual, Earthy paths reveal important elements of (sometimes hidden) physical pleasure, that involve going deep down, through insecurity, into Inner Human Truth to find the joyfully Divine. Such journeys into Ascension are tantric journeys - passionate experiences through sacred sexuality. The Creator actually "programmed the body" so as to be able to support these journeys into the Multiverse through ever-expanding Pleasure and Joy – the many different sacred sexuality pathways of the world are based on this ancient common knowledge. The bridge between earth and heaven is often felt to be just out of reach. The adept is striving to find something that is "right in front of the nose." Yet when this "something" is found, it is seen as though it had always been there. What was it that caused the change in perception which allowed the adept to see and journey through the veil-that-never-was? The key to change is a "sure foundation." (The Christian hymn-writers of old knew this; Christ is the one foundation, they sang................) For us who have taken upon ourselves the journey to divine empowerment, it is this deeply-anchored foundation that will support us or collapse under us when the going gets tough, as it surely does! The journey through Body-cell Purification, re-connection to the Earth, the Stars, and the Essence of the Godhead/Goddess, and towards the experiencing-in-Heaven of Unconditional Love, relies upon this foundation being deeply grounded and immutable, as in all bridge-building. And the main “requirement” for the building of sure foundations is a regular habit (as in any form of successful endeavour,) and the compassionate humility within oneself that allows gentle perseverance in times of apparent failure. It matters not whether our means to enlightened seeing are through sacred sexuality or ascetic meditation; the regularity of our practice and our unimpeded intent are crucial. (Yes, sacred sexuality requires as much discipline to be effective as a manifesting tool, as any form of fasting or "self-denial," as the tantric masters will tell you!) The coming changes upon Earth, whether caused by humans or other agencies and planetary bodies, will challenge us intensely. Ascension is to do with finding ways to transform the self-imagined limitations that we have imposed upon ourselves as “the norm”, so as to be able to ride the Paradigm Shift occurring within, beneath and around us. The idea is that humans and this planet may more than just survive together – the prophesied Golden Age is held to be a time to Prosper and to Thrive, and to Live and Love Abundantly in Peace, in Deep Connection with a balanced Earth. Sometimes we need to "go away" or "go beyond" to see how to be in a new place with regard to where we are. Accessing Astral Realms and Energy-form Transformation is not just a fantasy - it is Divine, shamanic Reality, through which we access magickal transformation in times of change and transcendence. It is such a time upon Earth, now. Through Divine Ascension, pathways will be opened and shown which will transcend the bounds of Life as it is now known, and take us into a Heaven-on-Earth hitherto unknown.
